THE MYSTERY OF HIGH PRAISES AND THANKS GIVING TO GOD

To be thankful means to express the feeling of being grateful. It is to express gratitude to God or to man, to be glad about something, to be appreciative of what has been done for you, to be gratified, obliged, satisfied, pleased , content, glad, happy ,relieved ,to show gratitude for good or favor done to you. This attitude of gratitude to God And to man for everything is a serious important responsibility of the child of God. God plays close attention to the spirit of gratitude or thankfulness in the heart of the believer in Christ. It is dangerous not to be thankful. It is dangerous not to express thankfulness to God for all things (1Thess.5:18)
WHY MUST WE BE THANKFUL TO GOD? PS.92:1-15
1. Because God has made us glad through his work – Ps.92:4
2. Because God makes us to triumph everyday – Ps 92:4
3. Because God those great things for us – Ps 92-5
4. Because God has deep and wonderful thoughts for us – Jer. 29:11
5. Because the workers of iniquity fighting against you shall be destroyed Ps. 92:6-7
6. Because God is most high forever – Ps. 92:8
7. Because the enemies of God shall perish forever – Ps. 92:9
8. Because God shall exalt your horn like that of a unicorn – Ps. 92:10
9. Because God shall anoint you with fresh oil – Ps.92:10
10. Because you shall see your enemies perish according to the desires of your heart – Ps 92:11
11. Because the wicked that rise up against you shall be scattered and destroyed forever. Ps. 92:11
12. Because God shall make you flourish like the palm tree – Ps. 92:12
13. Because God shall make you to grow like the cedar tree in Lebanon – Ps. 92:12
14. Because you have been planted in the house of the lord – Ps.92:13
15. Because you shall flourish in the courts of our God- Ps. 92:13
16. Because you shall you still bring forth fruit in old age – Ps;14.
17. Because you shall be fat and flourishing – Ps. 92:14
18. Because God is upright – Ps. 92:15
19. Because there is no unrighteousness in him – Ps. 92:5

EXAMPLE OF THOSE WHO EPRESSED THANKFULNESS TO GOD IN THE BIBLE
a. Gen.5:12-13 – the birth of Mahalaleel. Mahalaleel means “let us praise the lord”.
b. Gen. 8:20-22 – the sacrifice of Noah to God
c. Gen. 21:2-7 – the testimony of Sarah
d. Exo.15:1-19 – the song of Moses after the crossing of the Red sea
e. Exo. 15:20-21 – the song of Mariam the prophetess and all the women of Israel after the crossing of the Red Sea.
f. 2Sam. 6:14-15 – King David’s dance of Gratitude to God before the ark and all Isreal. The mystery of the high praises.
g. 2Chr. 20:20-23 – how God destroyed the enemies armies as the Israelites praised  him expressing thanks.
h. Mk. 14:23 – Jesus Christ gave thanks to God
i. Jn. 6:11 – Jesus Christ gave thanks in the miracle of feeding the five thousand man
j. 1Cor. 11:24  the t6estimony of Apostle Paul concerning the institution of the Lords supper
k. Jn. 11;41 – Jesus gave thanks before raising Lazarus from the dead
l. Ps. 18:1-end; 2Sam. 22:1-51 – king David gave thanks to God after God has given him the victory over his enemies.

THE MYSTERY OF HIGH PRAISES AND THANKS GIVING TO GOD
i. Expressing aggressive thanksgiving to God and dance
ii. Expressing thanks to God without restraint, shyness and decorum
iii. Expressing thanks to God with reckless abandon
iv. Expressing thanks to God in all holiness
v. Expressing thanks to God aloud and for a long time.

THE RESULT INCLUDE
• God puts a two edged sword in the hands of that believer – Ps. 149:6
• He executes vengeance upon the heathen – Ps. 149:7
• He executes punishments upon the people – Ps. 149:7
• He binds the kings of the heathen with chains – Ps. 149:8
• He binds their nobles with fetters of iron Ps. 149:8
• He executes upon them the judgment written – Ps. 149:9
• This reality is honor given by God to the believers in Christ – Ps. 149:9

The danger of not giving thanks and praises to God for all things – Deut. 28:45-48
If the believer does not serve God with:
o Joyfulness
o Gladness of heart
o Gratitude
o Thankfulness for the abundance of all things, the following shall be the result.

CONCLUSION
We must cultivate attitude of gratitude and thankfulness in God and to man for all the benefits of life. This secret open the heavens to the advantage of the believers. This puts the angels into work to bring about blessings, breakthroughs and miracles. God enjoys the spirit of thankfulness. He expects his children to be grateful and thankful to him and others for all blessings. Do you have the spirit of gratitude and thankfulness?
